Forest Before the Trees

During the cold gray of January, I can't help but dream of the warm and colorful places.

This is a concept tree design.

Alpha Land Predator

This is a another creature design for Creature of the Week 200 at ConceptArt.org.

Prompt: Alpha Land Predator

Species Name: Camaxtli

Description: The Camaxtli derive their name from the ancient Aztec god of hunting, war and fire. These supreme predators have stout bodies with no excess flare but plenty of muscle. They are designed for aggressive attacks with their strong forearms and crushing jaws. Exposed bone extrudes from the skull and spine along with scattered extrusions along the limbs. This natural armor is constantly growing.

Trees and Tentacles

This was a fun and fairly quick environment. It seems that color notes are much the same as musical ones.

This is a creature design for Creature of the Week 200 over at ConceptArt.org.

The idea is that it uses it's tentacles to latch on to the brains of paralyzed, still living, prey and absorbs their neural energy. This allows for heighten cerebral function and rapid brain growth. New victims are drawn to the dead and used bodies, allowing for a constant supply of food and brain energy for the creature.
